RADIO DENMARK SUMMIT CHANNEL **************************** In connection with the UN Social Summit meeting in Copenhagen, a full-scale radio channel will be set up from Sunday March 5 to Sunday March 12 inclusive. It will go on the air from 08.00 to 19.00 UT on Sunday, March 5, and then from 06.00 to 19.00 hrs. UT every day for the rest of the summit. In principle the channel will -as far as possible- be a spoken-word channel, broadcasting an hourly mixture of general and international news throughout its air time, briefings about developments at the UN and alternative summits, analytical features (including interviews and discussions with attendees, transmitted live or delayed), flash news bulletins, service announcements, and "what's on in town" stories. The basic language will be English, but from 06.00-08.00 UT plus 17.00-19.00 UT, 15 minute news bulletins will also be broadcast in French (06.45, 07.45, 17.45 & 18.45), Spanish (06.30, 07.30, 17.30 & 18.30 UT) and Russian (06.15, 07.15, 17.15 & 18.15 UT). The English news at these times are at 06.00, 07.00, 17.00 and 18.00 UT. Radio Denmark Summit Channel will be transmitted from the Hove site, West of Copenhagen, NNE of Roskilde, on 100.0 MHz with 60 kW ERP. The channel will also be transmitted via the Kalundborg long- and medium- wave transmitters on 243 and 1062 kHz (when not used for special broadcasts - although not quite correct listed, see the WRTH '95 for these interruptions.
